Curtis Loftis is the State Treasurer of South Carolina. First elected in 2010, he is currently serving his fourth term as State Treasurer.
As Treasurer, Loftis serves as the “state’s banker,” managing, investing, and retaining custody of more than $67 billion in public funds, and works to ensure that South Carolina maintains its highly coveted credit ratings.
He also serves as administrator of the state’s Unclaimed Property Program, Future Scholar 529 College Savings Plan and Palmetto ABLE Savings Program, which provides eligible individuals with disabilities the opportunity to save and invest money while maintaining eligibility for important needs-based benefits.
Jeneva Vazquez is a Senior Associate at Jesson & Rains, PLLC, where she focuses on estate planning, corporate law, and estate administration. She is licensed to work with clients in South Carolina, North Carolina, Florida, New Jersey, and New Mexico.

Lakeith began his career with New York Life & NYLIFE Securities in October of 2017 as an agent/ advisor in Charlotte, NC. After deciding that he wanted to go into management, he then went on to qualify for Executive Council in 2019 and Quality Council in 2020. In August of 2020, during the height of the Pandemic Lakeith earned his promotion to Associate Partner and graduated to Partner in February of 2021 at the top of his class. In 2022 he was awarded New Partner of the Year in the Charlotte General Office, received the award for Top POP Percentage for First Prior Class (326% to goal) in the South-Central Zone, and earned the coveted New York Life Honors Excellence in Recruiting Award in 2022 & 2023. Prior to coming to New York Life, Lakeith spent 8 year with Comcast Xfinity, 4 years as a door-to-door Sale Rep, 1 year as Direct Sales Supervisor, and 3 years a General Sales Manager. This is where he developed his love for people development and sales coaching.
Lakeith is originally from Detroit, MI and met his wife Lashell during their time at Michigan State University. They have three children: Madisyn, Ethan, and Avery. In his free time Lakeith loves to read, bowl, and volunteer with his fraternity brothers of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc.
