Meet Loyal NAIFA Member Greg Ayers
Greg Ayers, CLTC, RICP, is a New York Life Insurance Company agent and advisor committed to serving Main Street USA through education and political advocacy.
Getting Started
Ayers got a later start in his insurance and financial services career than most. He has always been interested in finance and had two career paths to choose from when he graduated from college. He was offered a financial services position, but it was an intimidating prospect. At the same time, he received a job offer for a banking position. He chose the banking job. While he gained valuable experience, he eventually got discouraged because of the lack of opportunity for upward movement. When he started looking for other options, he found his true passion as an insurance agent.

NAIFA-South Carolina 2022 Legislative Day Recap
NAIFA-South Carolina's 2022 Legislative Day was a HUGE success! NAIFA members gathered in person in Columbia on February 22nd for a day of education, networking, and advocacy. Along with our members, there were 41 legislators that attended the reception! This year's Legislative Day was one of the best attended events and had the most representative interaction that South Carolina has ever seen.

Meet Loyal NAIFA Member Johnny Craven
Johnny Craven, LUTCF, is a stalwart of the NAIFA community and a veteran of the insurance and financial services industry.
Craven joined the insurance and financial services industry over 20 years ago, but that’s not where he started out. He spent 13 years in the grocery industry, but when one of his coworkers became an insurance agent and suggested he give it a try, he decided it was worth exploring. His coworker called Craven on a Saturday night and they planned to meet the next morning. Not realizing it was a formal interview, Craven showed up in shorts and a t-shirt and met the man who would become his boss. Fortunately, he saw potential in Craven and decided to give him a shot.
Wilson Event
On Monday, November 8th NAIFA-SC members Bruce Pope, Blake Amick, David Grooket and Casey Chambers attended an event for Congressman Joe Wilson (SC-02) with special guest Vice President Mike Pence. They enjoyed connecting with the Congressman and thanking him and his staff for support on issues relevant to NAIFA members and their clients. During the event they also visited with State Senator Ronnie Cromer, Chair Senate Banking and Insurance Committee who has worked with NAIFA-SC on financial security issues for many years. This was a great time to further enhance our relationship with Congressman Wilson and Senator Cromer and a few other state legislators that were in attendance.

Medical University of South Carolina Luncheon
On Tuesday, September 14th, NAIFA-South Carolina members met with Vera Ford, Director of Development at MUSC Dept. of Surgery, and Daniel Stanton, Administrator of the Transplant Center, at a MUSC Luncheon. Dr. Nadig and Dr. Dubay were also scheduled to be there, but were busy providing life saving transplant surgery to a 7-month-old and could not attend at the last minute.
Members enjoyed a nice meal and learned a great deal about transplantation and the amazing things they are doing at the university. They presented MUSC with a $5,000.00 donation from NAIFA-South Carolina raised through the annual D-Ball Tournament in Charleston organized by Joe Riley.

NAIFA SC - March 2021 Legislative Day
March 22, 2021
This year's Day on the Hill will be held virtually on March 22nd. Chairman Sandifer of the House LCI Committee and Chairman Cromer of the Senate Banking and Insurance Committee have have agreed to join us as part of a legislative panel to provide our members with updates on this years' session. Director Farmer of the Department of Insurance has also agreed to join us as a speaker.
